Welcome to the beginning of your journey in news writing. As I begin this new semester with you, I’m reminded of the daily refrain of a former news editor of mine. “Hey Young,” he would shout as I headed out the door. “Tell good stories that matter.” This semester, we will explore what makes news stories “good” and why good stories “matter.” I’m looking forward to an exciting and enriching semester.
